Immanuel
|
Immanuel, which means “God with us” from the Hebrew, is the good news of the gospel that we, as a congregation, whole-heartedly rejoice in by God’s grace. In Isaiah 7:14, God the Father reveals that His virgin-born Son will be called Immanuel.
Our church’s name also includes the word Orthodox. As a church our goal is to conduct all that we do in accordance with the teachings of Scripture.
Our church is also a confessional church. We hold to and abide by the summary of the Word of God as it is found in three confessions: the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession and the Canons of Dort.
As a Reformed church, Immanuel ORC is tied historically to those churches, who since the Reformation in the 16th century, have had a high regard for the Word of God for the life and faith of its members.
As a Church we confess that we are a group of believers belonging to the Lord Jesus Christ.
